EAC MALAGA – 2023

In September 2023, Dr E. Diapouli, Principle Investigator (PI) of the AirSensisPlus project for NCSR “Demokritos”, participated in the European Aerosol Conference, in Malaga, Spain (2 – 8/9/2023). The European Aerosol Conference brings together scientists, engineers, researchers, companies, institutions and users involved in the science and technology of airborne particles (aerosols), their measurement and physicochemical characterization, whether they originate from natural or anthropogenic sources, and their effects on health, the environment and the climate. Among the main topics of the conference are recent developments in the field of instrumentation and new measuring systems. Dr Diapouli presented a paper entitled “Assessment of low-cost sensing systems for the real-time monitoring of aerosol and gaseous pollutants in urban environments”, in the poster session. The results were related to research work on the evaluation and calibration of low-cost gaseous and particulate pollutant measurement systems. During the presentation of this work, Dr Diapouli also had the opportunity to communicate the inauguration of the AirSensisPlus project, and its goals and expected results, and to discuss with other scientists in the field about the latest developments on low-cost sensors and their future applications.
